We left soon after 9am, and after a brief stop at the bakery for croissants and coffee we were on our way home.
We stopped in Luxembourg, our 13th country, but only to refuel at 96.8 cents per litre. It only took an hour to cross the country and enter Belgium. Despite pessimistic forecasts from the sat nav, we arrived at the Eurotunnel terminal well before our train, checked in our dogs and were put on an earlier train.
We arrived in Blackheath at about 4.30, and were welcomed with a feast of ham, boiled potatoes and home grown vegetables. Jack calls runner beans ‘grass’ and loves them.
This is now a four week break from our travels to visit friends and family, help my mother celebrate her 80th birthday, move Clare’s dad from his flat in Beckenham to live with his son in Derbyshire and fumigate our van. Our travels will recommence with Day 75 on 14 September and a trip to Champagne.
